Expertise

• Kate practices principally in the areas of Intellectual Property and Commercial Law.
• Kate provides wide ranging intellectual property advice in relation to her client’s domestic and international intellectual property portfolios including advice on the creation and registration, management, licensing, protection and enforcement of her clients’ trademarks, designs, copyright, business and domain names, confidential information and trade secrets.
• Kate advises large institutional clients, both domestic and international companies, SMEs, joint ventures, franchises, and non-profit associations and cooperatives in relation to all commercial matters including corporations law, business structures, competition and consumer law, commercial property and contracts.
• Prior to joining Harris Wheeler Lawyers Kate worked with a large international construction and mining company in the areas of commercial operations and contract dispute management.
• Kate has recently joined Senior Associate Kathryn Halyburton at our Toronto office expanding her practice to now include wills and estates, litigation and dispute resolution, criminal law, family law and residential property and conveyancing.

• Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours) – University of Newcastle.
• Diploma of Legal Practice – University of Newcastle.
• Solicitor of the NSW Supreme Court and High Court of Australia.
• Bachelor of Science (Psychology) – University of Queensland.
• Bachelor of Arts (Criminology) – University of Queensland.
• Mentor for the Smith Family's iTrack program.

Interests
