Since 1892 we have served the business community, the public sector and the people of the Hunter Region.

Today the firm consists of some 30 professionals and administrative staff in our Newcastle and Toronto offices.

We provide strategic advice and legal services to businesses and public sector entities on a wide range of issues including contracts, transactions, business planning, property development, intellectual property, trade practices, compliance with legal requirements, industrial relations & employment, environmental issues, insurance claims, disputes, debt recovery and insolvency.

Personal Legal Services

Our private clients are served by a team of solicitors experienced in conveyancing, family law, employment disputes, insurance claims, neighbour disputes, bankruptcy, driving offences and criminal law.

Our Region

Harris Wheeler provide legal advice and services throughout the Hunter Region including Newcastle, Charlestown, Toronto, Maitland, Raymond Terrace, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens and the Hunter Valley. Many of our commercial clients are doing business internationally and several of them have expanded and moved beyond both the Hunter Region and New South Wales.

Community Involvement

We are involved in several community organisations and activities through sponsorship and participation including:

• Sponsorship of the Harris Wheeler Lake Swim, an annual event held at Toronto, Lake Macquarie. This community based event raises money to help supplement water safety programmes, especially for disadvantaged and disabled children.
• Sponsorship of Newcastle and Hunter Environmental Achievement Awards
• A Strategic Alliance Partnership with the Hunter Regional Tourism Association
• A proud supporter of Walk for WaterAid 2008
