First Home Owners Grant Extended

The Commonwealth Government’s boost to the First Home Owners Grant has been extended under the new budget.
Buyers who exchange contracts on or before 30 September will still be eligible for the full grants; $14,000 for those purchasing established homes and $24,000 for those building a home or purchasing a newly constructed home (including the $3,000 NSW New Home Buyers Supplement*).
Buyers who exchange contracts between 1 October and 31 December 2009 will only receive $10,500 when purchasing an established home and $14,000 when building a home or purchasing a newly constructed home.
The boost benefits will finish at the end of 2009. From 1 January 2010, the grant will be $7,000 for all purchases.
